Wolves in Ireland 14th November 

Did you know that wolves were once so plentiful in Ireland that it was referred to by outsiders as ‘Wolf Land’? Join us and Dr Kieran Hickey, author of ‘Wolves in Ireland, A Natural and Cultural History’, to learn more about this fascinating aspect of our natural history. Dr. Hickey will talk about the archaeological evidence, the origin of Irish place names linked with wolves, the mythology, folklore and superstition around wolves and the causes for the decline and extermination of the wolf. Not to be missed!
