About the Event
From rainfall down to groundwater up to tap water: we will conduct interactive experiments will disclose to participants the intriguing science behind the processes of the hydrological cycle, all the way to everyday water use. The experiments and activities will include:
- Water supply, treatment and distribution
- Where is all the water?
- Plant transpiration and capillary forces
- Adhesion and cohesion: how does the water climb inside the plants? How do little insects skate on water surfaces?
You will receive a pre-show video to guide you through the kit/session.
What do I need? You will need to prepare the following:
- plastic cups
- cotton wool
- food colouring
- paper clips
- straws
- blue tack
- celery
- a jug of water
- kitchen paper
- a tea towel
How will it work? We will supply a link for you to stream this event into your classroom via YouTube. You can schedule the event at a time that suits you on your selected date.
