Photogrammetry with Scan the World

Experiment with 3D-scanning in the Crawford Art Gallery.

Help to capture digital models of the historic Canova Casts and learn techniques of photogrammetry with Scan the World founder and project manager Jonathan Beck. 

Photogrammetry is a democratic method of recording and measuring three-dimensional objects with the aid of your smartphone! 

The Crawford Art Gallery are offering 3 x Schools Sessions (junior cycle, ages 13-15) to schools that are part of the CIT Access Service Linked Schools program.

Scan the World is an ambitious community-built initiative whose mission is to share 3D printable sculpture and cultural artefacts using democratised 3D scanning technologies, producing an extensive ecosystem of free to download digital cultural heritage. In making culture accessible, communities are encouraged to share their scans, stories, and creations with the goal to bring tangible heritage to the masses.
