About Cork Science Festival

This year from November 13th to 20th, Cork Science Festival offers the opportunity to engage science at multiple levels. Our program includes numerous workshops and shows available to visit primary and post primary schools, a fun series of afternoon and evening events & exhibitions visiting community groups, libraries and public spaces anchored by two large public open days. All this activity and excitement make Cork Science Festival one of the main partners of Science Week Ireland and one of the biggest events in the Irish science calendar.

Cork Science Festival is developed by a team representing research, education and industry across Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) from the Cork area and is funded by Science Foundation Ireland

‘Why a Cork Science Festival ?’

Some of the very top pharmaceutical and IT companies in the world are located in the Cork region. Research and education in science and technology is also very strong in Cork. Showing the breadth of education and career options available to students as they come through school showcases that opportunities exist without even leaving their home city. This approach will help ensure a future talent pool for those businesses, a vital part of the local economy.
